Orc Battle Standard
The Battle Standard of my Orc and Goblin army. The banner bearer is an Aly Morrison C36 Hobgoblin, his standard pole is cobbled together from a bunch of different stuff including a crawling claw familiar, bits from an orc and undead standard, some wire, thread, twine, and fine chain. I just love the epic totem pole/galleon sail standards in old Warhammer art, White Dwarfs and books like Heroes for Wargames draped in subflags, charms, and talismans. I tried to do justice to the idea that this is a sacred relic, covered in arcane symbols that the orcs believe imbue them with ferocious power and fanatical confidence in battle.
